can the newer price pfister washerless shower valves be installed in an old (1961) price phister manifold. I have contacted the tech line at pf and get two different stories. I was told by others to remove the seats and install the new valves. when this was done the water would not shut off. I need the help of a Pro. Thanks for any help.

My experience has been that this works 99.9% of the time. But I did have one installation that was like yours. In that one, I left the seats in and they worked perfectly.
