A family member of mine just had a new toilet installed by a local plumbing firm. A new flange was needed because the old one was rotted. When the bill arrived, we were shocked at the price of this item. How much does a CAST IRON Flange typically cost if I get one from a plumber vs a local hardware store? Together it was the CAST IRON Flange, a rubber piece that went inside that, and then the wax ring. Can some one please tell me? I specify CAST IRON, because I believe there are other types. Are there? What is the cost of a NON-CAST IRON one, and are they not as good?

Not sure on the price but a PVC FLANGE is cheaper and just as good
