        Does the top of a sewage ejector pit need to be flush with the basement floor? In my situation it would be possible for me to leave the top above the finish floor. I would only dig deep enough to get the entrance hole about even with the concrete basement floor. I don’t know if this is acceptable by code or if its a common practice.

          No, they do not have to be flush with the floor they can even sit on a floor if needed, just make sure it is in a safe area so it is not a hazard if people are walking by the exposed part of the tank.

            Thanks Plumbill! You have put my mind at ease. This info will make my project much eaisier, I was dreading busting all that concrete.
