We have a horrific smell coming up out of our shower drain only after someone takes a shower. It smells something like a perm. Any ideas?

Either the trap is not vented and it is siphoning out, or you have no trap. Look down the pipe and see if you see water. If not, dump a bucket in and see if it stays. If it does, you have a trap, if not, no trap.
