I have about 40ft from my basement sewer line to the hookup in the street – is there any reasonably priced tool to unclog the line – I seem to get tree roots in line. Any help will be appreciated.

Depending on your definition of “reasonable price” there may not be. And purchasing the tool is just part of the process. I have seen plumbers take a brand new snake machine and damage the $150.00 snake immediately before they even put it into the drain. So unless you wish to take a chance on paying about $800.00 and then maintaining it, you would probably be better off having a plumber do the job.
