        Hi
have a Hendy S150 Gas boiler for infloor slab heating. Anyhow for the last couple of years having a problem when we start it up for winter.
This year it worked for a week then it came up with a F2 fault. A new ignition pack was installed last year which fixed the problem. Now the plumber said it is the same prob, but the part is no longer under warranty as it only had 90 days! Anyhow since we live out of town it costs us a fortune to get someone out here – I have been conversing with the makers , but they have not been much help.
My question is: there is a small bulb on the back of the ignition pack that flashes 3 or 4 times if there is a problem – the amount of flashes states a particular fault. Ours does nothing! Does this mean it is completely stuffed or is it ok?? Any help would be great.
        Thanks
        Franca

The last Hendy boiler I worked on had an ignition pack that showed a green light when the heater was running fine and flashed a set number of times for the fault identification. If your heater is the same as the one I worked on then I would first check and make sure that (a) there is in fact power being supplied to the power pack, (b) that the fuse contained within the power pack has not blown.
Depending where you are in the World as your post does not tell me which Country you are in there is another option that is quite a frequent cause of electronic failure here in New Zealand and that would be to fit a Voltage Dependant Resistor or a power spike protector to stop 240 voltage spikes which can easily cause a power pack to fail. Most important to fit if you reside in the backblocks and often get power outages or power surges.
