although i have lit my pilot (after afew weeks of it going out due to a serious leak on the stopcock above the boiler which has been since fixed) the flame on the pilot is not blue but yellow but does appear to be touching the thermocoupling the boiler itself is not lighting. what is the most likely solution?

The pilot light injector and burner needs to be cleaned out – it is probably full of dust and or lint.
Cleaning it should return the pilot flame to a nice clear blue colour and lengthen the flame to impinge on the thermocouple lead end.
