We just purchased this home and it is less than five years old. Every couple of weeks the kids tell me there is not hot water on their side of the house. I go upstairs and the pilot light has gone out. It lights right up and is good again for awhile. Do I need a blanket for it? I have no idean and would appreciate any assistance.

        Thanks!

A blanket is not going to help the problem.Have the heater serviced by a qualified service person. You could have a dirty pilot, bad thermocouple connection, etc.Don’t mess with it yourself because gas can kill if you don’t know what to do.

Absolutely right I totally agree with the answer given you by my learned friend racefanone – better and a whole safer to leave it to an expert to undertake on your behalf.
