I been told that my water heater has a rod that is shot inside it and thus is adding to the smell our water has? I’d say the sulfur content is too high but the water officials insist our city water is fine. The smell at times smells like rotten eggs.

Ever encountered this before? Could the problem be my hot water heater?

        Any advice would be helpfule.

The problem probably is your anode rod inside the water heater. It may be made of either magnesium or aluminum. By changing the anode rod to the type that differs from the one installed at present it should clear up the problem.

Thanks a bunch. I was able to locate a new anode rod and changed it out and our water is back to normal.
