Can anyone tell me whether Flueless Gas fires are safe to install. A couple of dealers have been wary of selling them to me for no apparent reason.
Are there any known problems with them.

Are you referring to small gas space heaters? If so, they have to be used in well ventilated areas since all gas fired units create carbon monoxide gas. They should not be used in living areas, but if they are used then you should be well equipped with CO detectors.

As an update to my original question I am refering to fitted flueless gas fires that use a catalytic converter to remove waste gases (not portable ones which use a gas bottle).
