Can anyone tell me the differance between a propane hot water heater for a house and a mobile home. My electric hwh went bad and I wanted to switch over to propane. 3 weeks to get (I checked about every place on Long Island) if approved for a mobile home. Why can’t I use a direct vent unit the draws in fresh air thats for home use? I have a double wide mobile home with a space app 35″ by 38″ that is acsessed from the outside that the water heater goes in. Thaks

About the only difference is that a mobile home heater comes with restraints so the heater cannot tip over when the mobile home is moved. And I know that a double wide is not going to be moved very often, but that is the rule.
