My builder installed a whirlpool tub in my new home. It is a corner unit. the faucet is on the front and there is only about 16 inches of clearance from the handles of the faucet to the wall, so not much room to get in. In addition, they did not install a step up. I am now in a fight with them because it is difficult to get in from either side, and you almost have to hold onto the faucet while climbing in. Can anyone tell me if there are guidelines for an installation like this. In other words, is there some national code that requires room to properly get in and out for safety? I am really not too hip on plumbing issues. If there are codes and/or illustrations, can someone point me to where I can get these?

        Thank you so much!!

Dont hold on faucet it might get loose. Have a grab bar installed where you need it to get in and out. Go to http://www.google.com and put what you want in search.
