        Hi,
Its been a while since I have done any plumbing, but I do not remember having such a bad time with cutting 1/2″ copper tubing with a tubing cutter. It is leaving a very large “chamfer” that needs to be reamed out to leave the id of the tube smooth. Is it because I am using sced L instead of M ? If so do you guys have any suggestions other than cutting it with a hacksaw ?

        Thanks in advance,
        Bill

Try replacing the wheel on your tubing cutter.Type L is the only type I can use for water where I live, per code. Don’t have any problems cutting it .Good luck.

            Thanks Race,
The cutter is pretty old, might be time for a replacement. I am running a bunch of compressed air lines at my business and the time it’s taking to debur the end of every cut is wearing me out

If you cut it with a cutter are saw you still have to ream it are file it.

                    Race,
Just thought I would let you know that the new Rigid cutter did the trick. Just minor touch up needed now. I got more done in 4 hours today than I did all day yesterday.
And yes, retired, the hacksaw did leave some minor burrs to be touched up, but nothing like the 20 year old tubing cutter was doing.
                    Thanks all
