Hi,
I am trying to fix a single handle price pfister tub faucet, which is leaking.
I figured that the stem needs to be replaced, so I removed the handle and face plate which then exposed the plastic stem.
i also removed the sleeve nut that keeps the stem in place.
i tried several times pulling the stem using a pair of pliers with out any success.
i am not sure if there is anything else that is holding the stem or is it lime build up and corroision that is causing the problem.
i am afraid if I pull too hard I may damage something that will be more expensive to fix.
any advice is welcome. thank you.
this faucet is about 12 years old.
