Is there an easy to reduce or minimize water hammer? Is there some trick to this?

There sure is a TRICK it is called proper sizing of piping and no excessive runs proper supports and 4 fitting swing for hot water piping to allow for expansion and contraction.

Keeping velocity to with recognized guide lines is a plus for a great long lasting QUIET system
