Hello. I used patching cement to level a concrete floor in my basement and some of it oozed under the newly finished walls baseplate into the basement drain. I found this a day later but, luckily, Ive been able to extract some of it – just down past the drain elbow – because the water heater runoff kept the compound somewhat wet. Ive been using a crank toilet snake to loosen the compound with limited success. The pipe is PVC: would some form of acid – sulfuric or muriatic – be of any help? If not, is there any hope other than tearing up the floor and replacing the pipe? Thanks! Steve T.
