We have a water hammer problem in our house. A plumber came out to our home about a month ago and confirmed this but said hed have to tear up the walls to actually fix the loose pipes that are probably causing the problem. Yesterday we noticed abnormally low water pressure from two faucets on our top level bathroom but the low pressure doesnt appear to be a problem anywhere else at the moment. Any ideas if this an indicator of a larger problem?
The low pressure is probably due to the aerator screens on the spouts being obstructed with debris. Unscrew them and see if the pressure returns to normal. : We have a water hammer problem in our house. Check to see if the waterhammer is coming from your hot water system. If so try the following. Remove the valve for the on/off cock. flatten the valve so it is a very tight fit. If the hammer is coming from the hot water system, this will fix your problem. I recently had a plumber out who basically told me the same and presto, a sore thumb later and 80cents and its fixed
