        i am having problems with my fossetts , i watched a news program about a week ago that ,stated that some gas hot water heaters mnf. between 90 & 95 had a plastic internal feed tube that disscentagates and stops up your fossetts , my question is what do i do???i am sure this is my problem ,after cleaning out filterscreens, and finding small particles of plastic

          You should be able to remove all the screens on your faucets and clean out the debri. Check closely to see if what you see is plastic or what looks like salt or darker color pieces. I suspect your water heater is putting debri from its bottom into the pipes thus your faucet spout. This is more likely than the plastic dip tube that you mentioned you saw on T.V. last week. If the plastic dip tube deteriorates you would be experiencing colder water than usual out the hot service line.This does not seem to be your complaint. buy an inexpensive pressure gauge that you can get at the hardware store, screw it on your hose bibb and watch it have some one go in and run the tub, sink if the pressure gauge moves or bounces you could have a pressure problem that causes debri from the heater into your faucet, If this is the case call a Licensed Plumbing Contractor to further diagnose. Or… you could have old galvinized pipes and the only way to get rid of that debri is a re-pipe. Good Luck
