Help… our septic tank system has given us problems for the last 10-12 years. We recently had it pumped, but were told that there is also another problem: the leeching field. We dug the pipes up ourselves today and stuck a snake in and ran directly into what we believe is a wall of roots, grass and waste from the house. Can anyone recommend a product that will relieve the clog???? At this point, hooking up to the sewer is not an option (too much $$$). I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you.Personally I hate chemicals for any drainage cleaning. I have loads of accounts with root problems and I keep these sewers running by snaking (rodding) once a year. NOTHING beats an electric for hard blockage like roots etc For soft stoppages like silt ,sand or grease water jetting is the way to go. There is a company called ROOT X who did send me a sample to try on my victims (Accounts) and I have yet to try it. The reason I do call my clients victims is simple. No one ever calls a plumber for a chit chat it is always for some catastrophe then they yell HELP. My personal gut feeling is SNAKE the line several times till the cutter head comes back with no more roots THEN do it every year. This will work for years and years. Once you add any chemicals you may kill off good bacteria needed to break down the Stuff your throwning down your drains. By the way if you happen to to look at PLUMBVEWS.http://www.masterplumbers.com/plumbing/plumbviews/jetters.html You can read my article and several others I have written.Hopefully this will work out good for you Good Luck ..Sylvan
