Hi I had a house built in 1998 and we moved in in Jan. of this year. Since about mid april I have been getting a strong sewer gas odor coming from my Sewage Pump in the basement. This only happens during and after a very hard rain. The pump has a discharge and a vent pipe and a rubber grommet with two power cords through it. When it rains I can feel air emitting from around the power cords and a slit that is used to slide the power cords on to the grommet. It seems the system becomes pressurized only when it rains. The plumer that installed the system has no idea why it is doing this. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
