I want to replace a Crane New Day lavatory Sink, US PAT 1915706. It was probably installed in the 40s and made of iron. Wall hung with towel bars that attach back to the wall and is supported in front by chrome legs. I have very nice tile around it and want an exact fit. Any suggestions how to proceed.

Any suggestions how to proceed. option 1-try to make a paper template of the shape and visit some show rooms. it going to be hard to match. you might try going with a larger size thus covering any spaces or old marks. option 2-formulate plan B

If the tile is around it, then you are going to have to remove some of it to allow the old lavatory to be lifted from its bracket. You will not find a new sink that has the same shape, so you will have to try to find a larger one. If the tile is behind the sink, as it should have been, then there is no problem and you can use any sink and just scrape the old outline off the tile.: I want to replace a Crane New Day lavatory Sink, US PAT 1915706.
