Septic tank

My septic tank is discharging out of the ground, but in a few minutes it absorbs the discharge. We are assuming that roots have caused blockage causing slow drainage. Is there a chemical or some other solution that is less cost than replacing lines and adding backfill.

Mike, There is…….a company called Mr. Roebic, they manufacture a product called K-77 root killer. This stuff should work, provided the roots have not compleatly plugged your line. Be advised that just because the roots are killed, that your tank will start working again….you will have to allow time for the roots to break down and decompose.an alternate would be see if you can find the section that is plugged and replace that section instead…….if you can find someone with the expertice……
