I have Polybutelyne pipe and fittings in my home. My home is only ten years old. So far this pipe and fitting has caused me lots of grief. The fittings to my hot water heater have come apart three times now. It ruined the floor and my hot water heater fell through the floor. I found the gas discharge flume disconnected from the heater. I had to replace the floor before the furnace beside the hot water heater fell through the floor also. Had a plumber come back in and my the connection again. The biggest problem is, that there is not a plumbing company in Boise Idaho that will touch this pipe. They all say it is no good pipe. The plumbers I do get to fix it say they cannot Warrenty their work and I can see why. It keeps breaking. My insurance is about to drop me because of the problem. My question is what can I do other than replumb the whole house. I cannot afford to do that and should not have too. I bought the house with the assurance that it was a sound house. I have filed a claim against the pipe company and they tell me there is a class action law suit in progress now. I also understand there was funding for the replacement of this said pipe. I hear the funding ran out and to bad for those whose whom did not get in on this. Anyone with any suggestions, please help. I am open for any suggestions. Bob Belanger 10070 W Mesquite Ln. Bob: Looks to me as if you have no other option than to repipe. In the long run it is the cheapest way out, who knows when the courts will be done, and how much there will be. Not to mention if your house burns down with no insurance. One thing I can say on getting a repipe job done is to pick someone who has done this before, licensed, insured, master, find five if you can. Get prices from all five. Take the highest and the lowest prices and forget about them, high guy doesnt need your work, the low guy forgot something, take the average of the remaining three and choose the one closest to average. Chances are he will give you the best bang for your buck, and you will not have to pay for a repeat performance. JMHO…..Lou

call 800-356-3496 They still have money, and you are covered for 12 years after construction. They will do the repipe and wall repair. Also submit any repair bills that you have and they will usually reimburse for those also. In addition, if you are ness than exactly 10 years, you might see if you can develop some leaks in the exterior pipe also sotht can be replaced.
