I have gone from a endless supply of hot water to about five minutes worth in the shower. Is my tank going bad . there’s no water on the floor or any like that just a now short supply of hot water.

Sounds like the bottom element in the water heater is bad, or not working for some other reason (top element thermostat contacts to lower element thermostat bad, wire burned out, etc.).
