Hi, my family recently bought a water heater. Problem is, there is NO hot water. When we turn the faucet to HOT, the waters cold and theres no pressure. The tank itself seems to be working fine-hot water comes out of the drainage valve. Could there be a manufacturing defect that allows cold water in, but doesnt let hot out? Should the cold water valve be getting hot? Im worried that we turned on the heat before the tank was full. What happens in that situation? Could that cause the problem? Thanks in advance.

If I had to guess, I would say your shut-off valve is broken in the off position, and you have a Moen, Mixet, or Price-Pfister tub/shower valve that is defective. The cold water is coming from there, and no water is coming from the heater.: Hi, my family recently bought a water heater. Problem is, there is NO hot water.
