I have recently purchased a house with in-floor hot water heat in the basement. It has an electric (small) water heater suppling the hot water. It appears to have never been hooked up because the ciculating pump has never been wired in. Will I need a expansion tank? Should I consider switching to a gas hot water heater? (I live in Alberta….) How long would I have to go to make the conversion pay??
