: i want to add a bathroom in my bacement that has : a 3 in pipe sticking out of floor along with a 1 1/2 or : a 2 in pipe that has a trap at bottom looking into pipe : and a 1 1/2 or 2 in pipe by the 3in pipe looking down : into the 3in pipe it is teed off one end going to vent : stack goingout the roof and the other end going sewer. : is this ready for a toilet and sink and maybe a bathtubIf you home is a newer type you probably have the 3 pc basement rough-in already done. On the 3 pipe you will have to install a toilet flange. The 2 pipe with the p-trap in the floor is for a shower or bath tub. There maybe another 2 coming out of the floor that is for your toilet if it is 2 then it is most probably a wet vent(a drain that acts partial as a vent) this pipe will act as your vent for the toilet and also your drain for the lavatory sink.If it is only 11/2 then it is only for a lavatory and you other fixture should already be vented.Usually all the venting is done, but you may have some to do?!

I have an unfinished basement. The floor is concrete and there are drains for a shower and toilet left by the builder. The drain for the shower is 1 inch above the concrete floor with a 2 inch cap covering it. The toilet drain is 1/2 inch above the concrete floor with a 2 1/2 inch cap covering it.What height should I cut each of the two drains respectively in order to put a shower drain and a toilet flange before fixing a shower and toilet onto them? What would be the height of the shower drain and toilet flange from the tile floor I will be placing on top of the now present concrete floor?Thank you for both your time and advice.

One other question…My design for the added bathroom is to make a lower drywall ceiling where the exhaust and lights will be placed. The rest of the walls of the basement will be higher with an armstrong ceiling. What would the bathroom walls structure look like when there is a need for the wood ceiling studs to be part of the wall in order to fix the drywall ceiling to it?A diagram will be of great help. Thank you for your time and advice.
