Water is coming from under the hot water heater. Should or can we fix or do we need to call a plumber or should we just go ahead and purchase a new hot water heater? The hot water heater is a 40 gallon AO Smith glass lined water heater approximately 8 years old.

Miriam:–An eight year old water heater with a leak coming out of the bottom. Sounds like your wisest investment would be in a new heater rather than to try to coax a few more years of service out of your trusty old heater. Lotsof luck..Bud.

:Suncoast is right a new heater is the only relief By a good one, Rheem 40 gal Natural gas, or State water heater, or A O Smith again they are all dependable. Make sure the plumber that works in your home is licensed by the state you live in. He or She will have a state license card to be a plumber, if not send them away and call the local plumbers union for a profesional. mark tiernan bros plbg
