        My electric hot water heater gets real hot than trips the upper thermostat . I have replaced the upper thermostat but not the lower. Is ther something else i should be looking at. Thank you, Dale.

          Dale:–Yes..check the lower element for short and if OK replace the lower thermostat….Bud.

            Replace the lower thermostat. What is happening is that the lower thermostat is overheating and the heat goes to the top of the heater (heat rises), thereby tripping the upper high limit. You can order thermostats on the net at PlumbingMart.com.
