: I have had an unusual amount of moisture in my home, causing my windows to have alot of condensate (I live in a dry climate). About a week ago, I checked my hot water heater. The pressure valve was leaking, but after flushing it, it stopped and I cant see any other leaks. The dirt floor in the crawl space remains very damp near the water heater and the moisture in the house remains. I can see no visable leak from the heater or anywhere else. Is the moisture from the drying dirt, or could there be a leak into the vent system or? The heater is only a couple of years old.Roger, Wait a bit longer. If it does not dry up check for a leak. The relief drain vents outside? or under your crawl space. If under house pipe it outside. It is normal for it to drip while heating up.
