I recently removed a bathtub that was located on an outside wall When I removed the tub there was no vapour barrier behind the tub. Should I add vapour barrier before installing the new tub. Also the new tub is higher than the old tub. The drywall was damaged when I removed the old tile. There is about 2 between the existing tiles and the tub. How can I repair the drywall so that I have something to attach the new tiles to?

Pat – I would not install a vapor barrier. Use durarock to replace the sheetrock and cut and install ceramic tile to fit – secure it to the durarock with thin-set.
