when someone is in the shower and I turn on the sink, the shower gets cold! could this have something to do with the water pressure being too high or low? Someone please answer thank you

Your shower is not a pressure balanced valve. to protect yourself from shower shock, install a presure balanced valve by moen or a positemp valve by same.
