My tub manufacturer says to disinfect the tub every 90 days with bleach or spa freshner. But how much bleach should be used, the tub has a 70 gallon cap.

Duane…A general rule of thumb is 1/2 oz. per gallon of ordinary house hold laundry bleach is a satisfactory means of providing the desired effect in your Spa… 70 gallon = 35 oz.= 1-qt. No need to fill the tub how ever..1/2 tub = 1 pt. let circulate for 5-10 minutes, drain and flush. Happy New Year……………Bud………… Suncoast Plumbing.. Sunny Florida…

I just purchased a home which has a whirlpool tub. I want to know if there is a special disinfectant that I could use. Upon running the tub I saw hairs from the previous owner and residue. Please advise. Thanks
