I live on property that is very difficult to install (upgrade) the septic system (ie, rocky, steep slope). I would like to hear from anyone who is using a composting toilet. The information I have is all from manufacturers or distributers. Im looking for some independent info. Does the system work? Would you consider it superior or inferior to a conventional septic system? Are there problems that the manufacturers information doesnt cover? Are they really that easy to install and maintain? Any opinions would be appreciated.
