How can I get my toilets to stop talking to me. They make a swoosh noise and I can hear a rumbling in the pipes in the garage after the water is turned on somewhere in the house. I have tried to bleed the lines by turning the water off in the garage and letting the faucets all run dry. I still have the rumbling and the air noise in the toilets. Any help??

Any help??You may want to install an expansion tank to the plumbing system to soften water hammer. Some homes were plumbed with air chambers at the hightest plumbing fixtures that would have been helped by draining the system like you discribed. An expansion tank of even two gallons would help a system that doesnt have air chambers. I would also give longer life to a gas water heater in that it allows expansion when the water is heated.Regards, Terry Love
Terry, Thanks so much for the info, I will give it a try. It seems strange to think after living here for 7 years this would start happening. Can this have anything to do with the rotting smell we have that I posted earlier?? Thanks again
