Noise in water pipes

        All of a sudden, when we turn water off at a sink or bath tub, we get a growling noise. It just lasts a few seconds, but what might be causing this and what might we do to stop it?ThanksW. C.

It just lasts a few seconds, but what might be causing this : and what might we do to stop it?The first thing you should do if this is only affecting certain taps is to change the jumper valves and O rings in those taps. Put some lubricant on the spindle threads as well (Vaseline will do) That will probably fix it.If not, look for other causes of vibrartion such as the pipes not being secured to the walls properly or inadequately.Colin
