drain placement in kitchen sink

Im planning on moving my kitchen sink to an adjacent wall. What Id like to know is if there is a code/common sense limit to moving a kitchen sink drain from the vertical vent stack?Thanks for any advice.Burt

If the trap is sucked dry, sewer gas can enter the home.
