Need to know if there is any significant difference between a steel and cast iron tub and if paying the extra cost for a cast iron tub is worth it. Thanks Jim

Dropping even a heavy hair brush into a steel tub can cause a sizeable chip. If you can afford the cast iron, it is well worth the extra cost.

Steel bath is much better than a cast iron bathtub. We make 200.000 steel bathtubs year and we have less than 0,1% complains. Steel bathtub is the product that replace in the market the cast iron, for several reasons, 1st one envoriment, production cost, easy instalation, better price, recycleable, durability. If Steel bathtub is well made there no chip out. We can have chip out too in cast iron bathtub, apart the cast iron bathtub get yellow with time and steel bath still bright all life.: Jim: : A steel bath tub is much easier to chip than one of cast iron. Please advise where my mother can buy a stainless steel bathtub. She is moving and wants to keep her 9 Labrador retrievers relatively mud-free. Thanks! Lisa [email protected]
