    The water coming out of any tap should not be hot enough to scald you, so the water should not be more than 110F, as on the average most people get an automatic reaction to pull your hand out at higher temperatures. Many water heaters can not be turned below 120F as they collect moisture on the combustion surfaces at lower temperatures. Legionella, a disease that attacks the respiratory system, grows in closed systems below 140F. So the ideal temperature is difficult to reach without the expert services of a master plumber who knows which quality mixing valves and devices protect their customers from scalds.
