You will have to check with the Virginia testing board. There is a lot more to plumbing than installing appliances and water heaters, and once you get a plumbing license it is assumed that you are conversant in all the nuances of the plumbing trade. For that reason, you may have to continue your apprenticeship in order to get experience in all the facets of the trade, especially those skills that are not always learned on the job, but which are taught in the trade classes.
