: Our one- floor house,for the past three days, has slowly gotten a horrible odor.The first day, I thought it was something in the garbage.The trash can is in the laundry room ,which is off the kitchen.It was not the garbage.By afternoon of the same day, it spread into the kitchen itself .It now smelled like human waste.By early evening the odor spread into the living room,which is off the kitchen.The odor has not spread past this area.(Laundry room,kitchen,and living room.) It is a horrible smell.It smells as if there is an out-house right in our house.Any suggestions of what this may be caused by would be greatly appreciated.It sounds highly likely that you have a blocked drain there Stacy, I would call a local plumber straight away to have it checked out as it may get much worse if left unchecked ie. sewage overflowing in your house. regards M.W.
