I forgot a few things last time.Remember this problem may not even be your pipes. You said the water company had problems. Phone them and ask them where you are getting your water from. Ask them if they are expecting the water to be dirty at any time and is the water safe to drink. If they say they do expect it to be dirty, you can buy a filter or complain a whole bunch to them (they may fix it).Also, just because your water is clear doesnt mean it is clean. The worst things in water are unseen to the eye. The silt you see is considered to be harmless but is very disgusting.If your water is supplied by a state run water authority strict regulations stated by the EPA must be followed. If these regulations are not met very large fines can be levied.If your water supplier is private or even personal (on your property) there is not much way to know if the water is safe. You may want to get it tested by a local lab. DO NOT get a test that is advertized as Quick or In your house, right infront of your eyes. A proper lab facility will be able to prove they are registerd under a government liscense.The chances are if you have lived in your house and drank the water for more than 5 years and dont feel sick; there is nothing to worry about.
