: Installing old toilet in newly tiled bath. The space between top of tile where toilet sits and floor flange is approx. 5/8. Everytime we place the toilet in the wax and bolt down, it leaks slightly from the bottom. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Either purchase one called a wax and a half or very carefully stack 2 waxes on top of each other. mold the two together so they dont misalign when you set the bowl down. Sometimes the extra height of the tile added places the bottom of the bowl too far away from the floor. Also check to make sure that the tank to bowl connection is not the real culprit here. sometimes jostling the toilet around will cause a leak up there. Good luck
