Same problems here in our Handicap Toilet. After moving the wax-ring to the other one (we call it tv�an), some users complain when passing by when the door is not closed. The tips is to move the toilet-paper rig higher on the wall to prevent the users from leak the toilet. (or use it at all). No plumbing required..: We have had numerous problems with water leaks from base of : handicap toilet. Replaced wax ring several times. : Placed wax ring on base of toilet then set toilet. : Any recommendations?: : : I have a brownish stain developing around the edge of the bottom of my commode where it attches to the floor. The stain is getting a little bigger, I am guessing that the seal between the toilet and the waste pipe is bad. What do you think?: : It is probably the seal under the bowl. Turn off the : : water supply and flush the toilet to be sure the water : : is off. Disconnect the supply connection to the tank : : and then unscrew the bolts that hold the bowl to : : the floor. Carefully lift the toilet and clean off any : : old wax from the flange and the bottom of the bowl. : : Place a new wax ring on the flange, put new bolts : : in the slots on the flange and reset the toilet. Hand : : tighten the bolts, then sit on the bowl to push the : : wax down and then tighten the bolts a little more, DO : : NOT OVERTIGHTEN, YOU MAY CRACK THE BOWL. Reconnect the : : supply, turn on the water and check for leaks. Caulk around : : the base of the toilet with a good tub and tile caulk. : : That should do the job.
