: In May I had a contractor replace a leaking shower pan. Now (Oct) there is water leaking downstairs in the same place as before when the shower is running and no other time. Did the contractor screw up the installation? Could it be anything else? Is the only option I have ripping up the tile and starting again? You can check the pan and the plumbing 2 ways. First remove the shower head and arm and plug them off with a 1/2 nipple and cap then turn on the shower valve leave it on to see if water shows up, if it does you have a leak in the pipe. Next get a rag or a plug and plug off your shower drain then fill the pan up using a hose or buckets of water. Leave the water in the pan to see if the pan leaks if it does you may be able to locate the leak from the water level, ie th low water line. ALso try to reseal or regrout/caulk your seams
