: My dishwasher doesnt drain and my garbage disposal doesnt work.. could they be connected.I have cleaned out the filter in the dishwasher but still doesnt drain.try the reset button on the bottom of the disposal. usually a little red button.does the dishwasher drain connect to the side of the disposal? on occasion Ive seen a disposal push food stuff back into the dishwasher drain hose. disconnect hose at disposal and shake it out. if that doesnt solve problem youll probably need service.
