If you are using the proper drain fitting, that will determine the thickness. The plastic liner will go onto the drain flange and the mud will be as thick as necessary to reach the finished level of the drain top.: How thick should the shower mud pan be? I looked at the PASCO site, but it did not indicate how thick the shower mud pan should be.
