: I have a 1 yr. old home that has two bath fixtures in separate ends of the home that when you turn on the water, they make a loud vibrating noise. One is a double sink where one side does it and the other doesnt. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. : Thank you. : Bill Davisyou are getting what is called air hammer it happens when air is trapped in the lines and the water pressure is too strong. when the water is turned on, the water pushes the air to the end of the pipe and has to force its way to the faucet. also, your pipes may not be properly tied down, and are loose, allowing the pipes to shake when water moves through them. three things to try…one, have a plumber, or yourself install air gaps at the top of your pipes at the sink, these are small bullet shaped tubes that fill up with the excess air when the water is turned on, stopping the force from vibrating the pipes. two: tightly secure all the pipes to the framing members so they dont have that extra room to move around. three: if you have really high water pressure, have a plumber install a pressure reducer valve in your line so theres not so much force coming in. one or a combination of these tips should fix your problem.(why not contact your builder and see if they will fix this for you, it should have been done right when your house was built in the first place!) good luck!
