It must be fully on if you are using heat in that room, and fully off if not. Do not adjust it part way, or the radiator will begin banging when the heat is on.: on my home steam radiators. I have a valve on one end and the steam vent on the other side. what exactly is the valve for? and should I always leave it fully open?
