I would like to know if you install a shower pan over existing concrete slab,do you have to pour a mud bed under the pan liner or just pour the one above the liner sloping back to the drain? : : : : : Im wondering if there is a video or book covering the replacing of a leaky shower pan. If so where could I purchase such an item. Ive recently purchased a foreclosure property and am doing most of the work myself . A plumber in the area wants $950.00 us dollars to replace it. Is that price too high and is it a huge job. I consider myself very experienced and quite handy. what are some of the main concerns when tackling a job like this. Thanks. : : : Steve: : Steve, : : Home Depot carries videos and books on home remodel. : : To get a shower pan replaced for $950.00 is very reasonable. The main concerns on a job like this is the connection between the new and old tile. A mud set base has a membrane that will go up the wall 18 inches. A tile backer like Wonderboard would be good to use.: : regards, : : Terry Love
